The Falcon King Saga.

This was meant for the "Wings" topic on Illustration Friday about 2 weeks ago. I didn't post it because I got completely side-tracked with this character and was going to make a short comic strip about him. Forgetting that I've never done anything close to a comic strip, I dived right in with ideas of a short comic story which is currently four pages of scribbles with no end in sight. I felt that I had not only bitten off more than I could chew but I had bypassed that whole chewing lark and had attempted to unhinge my jaw and consume the whole thing like a snake. Needless to say I choked and lost all motivation for this drawing and the whole comic idea.

For a week or so I couldn't look at paper the same way, until about five days ago when I sat down to watch Question Time only to find myself doodling away totally oblivious to the questions of Question Time. The scribble I produced (right) made me go back and complete the original picture and recreate the doodle as the below picture in a fraction of the time it took me to balls up my comic strip.

For the picture below I used a image from the Internet just to get my bearings on how to draw a more realistic punch to the face. It worked however I feel that this picture is now tainted.

                           Hope you enjoy !!!

IF: Edge

If you go down to the woods today..

I'm a massive fan of John Howe's work so when I got one of his books for Christmas, I couldn't help but attempt a drawing in his style. Problem being that his sketches look a lot easier than they really are plus being left handed meant that I was forever drawing and smudging the picture, which made what was meant to be a quick sketch, a week long ordeal. However I do like how it finally turn out and I guess it was a good learning curve.

 I hope you enjoy it!

IF: Water

Derek couldn't put his finger on it but the new pocket-sized umbrella, which he had just paid his final down payment on, had, to his mind, a major design flaw.

Sketch book 4

Just done some character doodles, once I get my head around Photoshop and its endless amount of options I'll try and colour this in.

IF: Crooked

Like with most of my art collage projects I could never be arsed planning for too long and would jump straight into the project with very little planning. Well this no different as after only three ideas  ( two being the same idea) I've decided to go with my first doodle.

Sketch book 2

I had an hour to kill before going to watch the game, this is how I wasted that hour.

Sketch Book 1

I went to town the other day for some art supplies. I got myself a Moleskine sketch book, a graphite pencil with the idea of looking more professional. I sat on the pencil on the bus home. £1.14 and my professional image down the drain within ten minutes.
