Being a massive Stanley Kubrick fan, the first image that popped into my head for this weeks Illustration Friday topic was obviously a snow man. After drawing the most unoriginal snow man ever I had a rethink 

and decided to draw one of the iconic scenes from the Shining.

The Kenn Brigade

I've been a massive fan of John Kenn's 'Post-it note monsters' since first discovering

his work about a year ago and about two weeks ago I was given one of his books plus 

a new set of fine liners. This plus the lack of employment has giving me the time to produce

this image in Kenn's style.

He had always expected this day to come, ever since that dreadful night in 1976 during the third round of the south-west district's bi-annual Boggle championship play-offs.

 But maybe not so soon.

 Derek couldn't put his finger on it but the new pocket-sized umbrella, which he had just paid his final down payment on, had, to his mind, a major design flaw.

Some of my IF:Mirror ideas. decided to go for the worm looking into the mirror as it makes the least sense of them all plus I enjoy how his expression came out.

I went to town the other day for some art supplies. I got myself a Moleskine sketch book, a graphite pencil with the idea of looking more professional. I sat on the pencil on the bus home. £1.14 and my professional image down the drain within ten minutes.
